This first semester of college has been great. I have learned many new things and have met some pretty cool people, but one class in particular is what made it count.
English 1101 with Professor Arrington is the class I am talking about. It was the first class that actually felt like a college course and not some high school crappy class. Many new ideas and concepts came out of this class but also some struggles and complications.
I suggest this class to anyone who can take it, but here are some pros and cons for you to decide whether or not this class is right for you.
The great thing about this class is the setting that is there from the start. It is such a student involvement class. The professor asks a question and instead of the high school teacher just telling you the answer, she pushes you to find the answer and helps the whole class to understand complicated concepts in easier ways. The class is even a fun one. I know for i fact anyone would have fun in this class mainly because of the involvement and just what you learn and get out of the class.
Now for the cons... This class maybe fun but comes with a price. Number one if you are just wanting a laid back class you can sleep through well you are SOL in this one. YOU have to involve yourself and work in this class. The assignments seem easy at first but once you see your first professor revised work you will see how hard it can be. YOU need to work to your full potential. This class is NOT about, excuse the language, but bullshitting. No more high school essays where you just write in this class you have to dig for the answer and put it on the paper no matter how many drafts you have to write avoid the BS, it will save you a lot of hassle.
Professor Arrington is a great teacher and the class is a really good one, just come prepared to work and not waste time with being lazy and you will learn so much from all this and even be on your way to a better writer. And don"t worry no one is a professional author there first semester of college, I know for I fact I wasn't and honestly still am not. Have fun!!
